LG Energy Solution builds a circular battery ecosystem in line with
carbon neutrality and drives sustainable growth across diverse industries.

Biodiversity Conservation

To preserve biodiversity, products must be produced in a sustainable manner that does not disrupt the balance of ecosystems. In line withe this principles, LG Energy solution is committed to reducing the consumption of natural capital and ensuring that used resources can be returned to nature. To this end, we have established a Biodiversity Protection and Deforestation Prevention Policy based on Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework and the Science Based Targets Network (SBTN), and is actively carrying out biodiversity conservation initiatives in collaboration with local communities.

Biodiversity Management Roadmap

LG Energy Solution is committed to addressing the interlinked global environmental crises such as climate change, biodiversity, and deforestation, recognizing the need for comprehensive and complementary solutions.

Biodiversity Management Strategy

Accurately understanding the impacts and dependencies on natural capital and biodiversity provides an essential foundation for effectively identifying and addressing related risks and opportunities. In line with the LEAP (Locate, Evaluate, Assess, Prepare) approach of the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD), LG Energy Solution assessed the level of dependency on nature across its global production sites. The assessment results are disclosed in the ESG Report.

Biodiversity Conservation Activities – Activities to Protect Endangered Species in Cheongju

The Ochang Energy Plant of LG Energy Solution is taking part in Endangered Species Conservation Project organizedby the Geum River Basin Environmental Office to protect class II endangered wildlife, giant water bug, and preserve local biodiversity in Cheongju area. We have signed an MOU with the Geum River Basin Environmental Office and Cheongju municipal government to provide financial support and aid in the releasing of endangered species and improving their habitat. LG Energy Solution will continue to contribute to the conservation of ecosystems and biodiversity.
