RBA (Responsible Business Alliance)
LG Energy Solution is the first Korean battery manufacturer to join Responsible Business Alliance (RBA). RBA is the world’s largest industry coalitiondedicated to corporate social responsibility in global supply chains and comprised with over 190 global firms.
We fully support the vision and goals of the RBA and are committed to driving sustainable value for workers, the environment and business throughoutthe global battery supply chain. We seek to progressively align our operations with the provisions of the RBA Code of Conduct and collaborate with suppliers and stakeholders to improve working and environmental conditions and business performance through leading ESG standards and practices.
RMI (Responsible Minerals Initiative)
We have also joined RMI to procure minerals in ethical and transparent manner. RMI, an initiative under RBA, was established in 2008 to respond to human rights and environmental issues in the procurement process of minerals such as cobalt. Currently, over 400 companies worldwide have joined their cause.
RLI (Responsible Labor Initiative)
To improve the labor and human rights in the global supply chain, LG Energy Solution is actively participating as the first Korean battery company in RLI. RLI, an initiative under the RBA, was established in 2017 to respond to issues regarding forced labor, child labor, and working conditions. More than 180 companies, including our key clients are participating members.
RE100 (Renewable Energy 100%)
LG Energy Solution joined the RE100 initiative in April 2021 and committed to use 100% renewable electricity by 2030. Currently, our plants in Poland and the United States are procuring 100% renewable electricity, Korea and China plants are also gradually expanidng renewable electricity usage.
EV100 (Electric Vehicle 100%)
LG Energy Solution joined the EV100 Initiative in April 2021 and will swtich our owned and contracted fleets to electrici vehicles by 2030. As an electric vehicle battery manufacturer, we will continue our efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions through the transition to eco-friendly vehicles.
CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project)
LG Energy Solution participated in the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) in 2021 for the first time and disclosed our strategies for responding to climate change, such as RE100 by 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2050.
TCFD (Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosure)
In our ESG report, LG Energy Solution transparently discloses our climate information reflecting the recommendation of TCFD. We will continue to analyze business opportunities and risks caused by climate change and take the lead in climate response through various effort to acheive RE100 by 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2050.
SASB (Sustainability Accounting Standards Board)
LG Energy Solution transparently manages and discloses ESG-related indicators required by international standards. Starting in 2021, ESG-related non-financial information required by the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) is publicly announced in our ESG report.
